KLR Ops: the system that runs KLR Design

I built KLR Ops for KLR Design, a gates and railings firm. It handles their quotes, customer emails and job tracking, and it’s still growing.

Everything in the demo is made-up sample data, not KLR’s.

Before and after

By hand,
then in one place.

Before KLR Ops, KLR did most of this through separate apps, on pen and paper or in a notes app: basically everything by hand.

  1. How KLR worked before: done by hand

    Quotes worked out by hand

    Now: Quote builder

Three priced options from the survey answers

Survey answers become Good, Better and Best prices and a to-scale drawing.

  2. How KLR worked before: done by hand

    Customer emails written by hand

    Now: AI email writer

A draft reply, ready to check

Drafts a reply to customer emails, for you to check.

  3. How KLR worked before: done by hand

Job details kept across separate apps and notes

    Now: Job journey board

Every job's stage on one board

Every job's stage on one board, with a flag when one gets stuck.

  4. How KLR worked before: done by hand

    Separate apps for different jobs

Now: Supplier prices and cut lists

Prices, lists and jobs in one place

Saved supplier prices, with a cut list worked out from shorthand.

What it costs

A system like this
for your business.

A full operations system with AI, priced as a range. You get one fixed price after a free call, before any work starts.

Build, one-off
£9,000–£20,000
My price range for a full operations system like this. A few weeks to a couple of months to build.
Running it
From £395 a month
Hosting, AI, updates and support.

Why KLR’s cost was lower: I built KLR Ops while working at KLR Design, so its cost was my time, about £2,100, plus about £40 a month to run. For a business like yours I’d quote it as a project.

Payback (estimate)

Earned back
in weeks.

How long KLR Design took to earn back what KLR Ops cost, counting only the features that are live.

Saving
About 15 hours a week × £13 an hour = £195 a week (estimate)
Build
About 6 weeks of my time at £350 a week ≈ £2,100
Running
About £40 a month (about £9 a week), so the saving after running costs is about £186 a week
The sum
£2,100 ÷ £186 a week ≈ 11.3 weeks

KLR’s cost was earned back in about 11 weeks (estimate), then about £805 a month saved.

A client’s payback would differ: this is KLR’s cost of about £2,100 of my time, not a project price.

A rough estimate, not a guarantee or a legally binding figure.
